One of the longest-running independent titles still going in the UK. Founded in London in 1998 by Masoud Golsorkhi and art director Andreas Laeufer, Tank began life as a small, square book, under the motto "Small tank, big fish." A quarterly spanning fashion, art, architecture and contemporary culture at large, it stands out for its unusually strict editorial independence — advertising is deliberately kept low — and a tone that pairs intellectual rigour with sharp visual polish. A magazine for curious readers, well outside the usual commercial logic of fashion publishing.
