Founded in Paris in 1992 by Olivier Zahm and Elein Fleiss, Purple shaped an entire generation of fashion photography — Juergen Teller, Wolfgang Tillmans and Terry Richardson all got their start within its pages. Bilingual in French and English, often running past 500 pages for its major issues: as much a physical object as an aesthetic reference point.
